Surface line operation is the main thrust and direction to the development here and secondary we will have it lure / troll efficiently too.
Once again this design will be a soft sea kindly hull with tremendous load carrying capability, ideal crew working shelter and good operating visibility vision all around.

Study prints for the K Class, sail assisted, design are avaliable at NZD $50 for a colour profile of the vessel and a general arrangement drawing in fishing vessel mode.
Many of the design ideas and testing has been done at sea aboard a much smaller vessel and this tuna troll vessel is still a ‘work in progress ‘

UNIQUE FEATURES
The Flagship for Kansai Fishing Company is the new twenty nine meter, sail assisted, ‘K Class ‘design.
This vessel is solid in concept and an all experienced based design proving itself extremely economical and efficient in the lure / troll method fishery offshore.
The crew delight in the pleasure of the soft sea kindly hull, extreme load carrying ability, and the main engine noise reduction when under sail assist, either making passage, or fishing.
The aft working catch area is largely under cover for the crew and still gives good visibility around the vessel while working.
The sail assist rig is unique, and very easily adapted to, even by crew with no or little previous sailing experience.
The helmsman’s second level steering position gives 360 degree vision and a height advantage looking down on the trolling lures allowing total assessment of the situation at all times for trolling action or weed fouling of lures.
On top of this level is an observation tower for further distance appreciation viewing of sea surface disruptions of surface feeding fish or sea bird activity indicating likely catch interest zones.
This ‘ K Class ‘ offshore, sail assisted, Tuna troll harvesting catch vessel is outstanding as a production vessel without rival in the world.
WORLD CRUISING and MINI SUPER YACHT POTENTIAL
This K Class, sail assisted, design has world cruising very much in mind too with accommodation in the amidships area replacing the present fishroom space.
For short handed crewing and passage making, with so much space for very comfortable living while in port or at anchor, this vessel would be a pleasure to be onboard for extended periods.
On lifting the interior finishing to luxurious standards an easy transition to Super Yacht would be made.
